Why I wrote this

I have been reading tarot for thirty two years, and doing it professionally for twenty seven of them. In that time I have watched a lot of very good readers try to turn it into a living, and I have watched most of them stop.

Almost none of them stopped because they could not read. They stopped because they charged too little and felt awkward asking for more. They gave readings away to anyone who asked. They took on questions that upset them because they did not know they were allowed to say no. They had no system, so every booking was a conversation, and every conversation was work they were not paid for.

Then one day it stopped being the thing they loved and started being the thing that drained them, so they put the cards away.

None of that is a tarot problem. Every bit of it is a business problem, and business problems have answers.

That is what this course is.

Before you buy in

Who this is for, and who it is not

This course assumes you can already read. Not perfectly, and not fast, but properly. You can put cards down in front of a person and say something true and useful about them.

It is for two people. The reader who has never charged and wants to start. And the reader who is already charging, but it is not working, the money is thin, the boundaries are gone and it feels like more effort than it is worth.

And one honest warning. This course is going to ask you to look straight at things most readers avoid. What you charge. What you will not do. Who you actually are as a reader. Some of that is uncomfortable. All of it is the job.

How to use it

Three things I will ask of you

Go in order. Each module leans on the one before it. Module five will not land properly if you have skipped module one, because you cannot price work you have not defined.

Do the worksheets. Every module has one. Reading a lesson feels like progress and it is not. Writing your own answer down is the bit that changes something.

Go slowly. This is not a weekend. Take one module, do the work in it, and use it for a fortnight before you move on. The people who get the most out of this are the ones who treat it like a year rather than a course.

A price you can say out loud. A written list of what you do and what you will never do. A way for people to find you, book you and pay you without you chasing anybody. Words ready for the hard moments in a reading. And your affairs in order, so none of it is keeping you awake.
